WARNING: This device is intended for wheelchair positioning and pressure management only. All PostureWorks products should be used under the supervision of a healthcare provider; these products are not a substitution for proper patient supervision and care.
WARNING: The Position Pro Insert and Position Pro Low Rider are designed FOR USE WITH A SLING SEAT WHEELCHAIR ONLY. The Position Pro must be ordered to match the width and depth of the respective sling seat wheelchair upon which it will be used. The USER’S FEET MUST BE PROPERLY POSITIONED AND SUPPORTED to evenly distribute weight over the back, buttocks, thighs, and feet. The Position Pro should always be fitted and monitored by a qualified healthcare professional.
WARNING: Installation of an orthotic wheelchair cushion may affect the center of gravity of the wheelchair and cause the chair to tip backwards, resulting in injury for the occupant. Always EVALUATE THE REQUIREMENT FOR WHEELCHAIR ANTI-TIPPERS or other adaptive devices to ensure proper wheelchair stability.
WARNING: The Position Pro is made with temperature sensitive foam. A temporary hardening of the foam may occur when the product is exposed to low temperatures. ALLOW THIS DEVICE TO ACCLIMATE TO ROOM TEMPERATURE BEFORE USING; touch the device to test for softness of foam prior to using.
INSTALLATION: POSITION PRO INSERT - The Position Pro Insert APOD must be ordered to fit the specific width and depth of the sling seat wheelchair upon which it will rest. Place the Position Pro Insert directly on top of the existing sling seat so that both of the lateral sides of the device rest directly upon the sling seat, and in between seat rails of the sling seat wheelchair (NOTE: the Position Pro Insert will be ~ 2.5” narrower than the seat of the wheelchair).
If your PostureWorks device does not fit securely in the wheelchair, you may need a custom size device. To order a custom size device, please call The PostureWorks toll free at 1-866-860-5200.
INSTALLATION: POSITION PRO LOW RIDER
Step 1: The Position Pro Low Rider installs underneath the sling seat of the wheelchair. To install, first remove the front screw (and washer) that attaches the sling seat to the seat rail on each side of the wheelchair; set the screws aside.
Step 2: Attach one strap to each side of the wheelchair by wrapping the strap around the seat rail just behind the location of the screw that was removed (the strap will be under the sling seat) and threading the strap through the buckle; pull tight around the seat rail. When you let go of the strap and it hangs down, the Velcro side of the strap should facing outward toward the wheel.
Step 3: Place the Position Pro Low Rider under the sling seat and between the straps; thread the straps as follows:
- Down through the Guide Slots and under Support Bar A
- Then thread the strap over and around Support Bar B
- Then pull the strap back toward the outside of the wheelchair, attaching the Velcro to secure the Position Pro Low Rider.
- Repeat on the other side.
Step 4: Adjust the height of the Position Pro Low Rider to the desired position by tightening or loosening the straps. Adjust the forward position of the Position Pro Low Rider by sliding the straps back or forward on the wheelchair rails to the desired position.
Step 5: Re-attach the sling seat with the screws that were removed in Step 1.
WARRANTY: The Position Pro Insert and Position Pro Low Rider are warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of five (5) years from purchase under normal use.
